Richard Fearless is a British producer, composer and DJ whose work has continuously pushed the boundaries between electronic music, psychedelia, dub, ambient and experimental sound for more than three decades.
A key figure in London’s 1990s club underground, Fearless cut his teeth as a resident at Soho’s Job Club, sharing nights with Claude Young, Dave Angel and Andrew Weatherall. He later joined the Heavenly Social alongside The Chemical Brothers, during a formative period that saw the beginnings of his legendary project, Death In Vegas.
As a DJ, Richard is known for his huge range and instinctive approach behind the decks. He is a true selector. Depending on the situation, he can play heavy dub sets, banging electro or with Daniel Avery for their goo events, a journey through heavy trippy techno.
This same sensibility runs through his solo recordings, Deep Rave Memory (2019) and Future Rave Memory (2022), a pair of albums widely praised by the music press, including MOJO, Uncut and Resident Advisor, for their immersive, cinematic approach to electronic composition and their reimagining of rave culture’s emotional legacy.
Alongside his studio and DJ work, he runs the Drone label, co-founded the goo nights with Daniel Avery, and co-runs HOLY with Tom Dubwise, both focused on deeper, exploratory strands of club culture. He also hosts the long-running Metal Box radio show on dublab, which has become a platform for eclectic and forward-thinking selections.
