Joep Beving

Joep Beving is one of the most listened-to living pianists in the world.

In an astoundingly short amount of time, this incredibly gifted artist has found himself topping streaming charts worldwide, with hundreds of millions of streams and an audience that continues to grow across both contemporary classical and alternative music spaces.

Joep describes his minimalist and contemplative style as “accessible music for complex emotions”. In an overcrowded musical landscape, he has created a unique and recognisable voice that moves fluidly between classical, ambient, pop and avant-garde worlds — with truly global appeal.

His latest album, Liminal — released in March 2026 — explores humanity’s relationship with the natural world and our place within a broader, more-than-human ecology. Inspired by Guillaume Logé’s book Wild Renaissance, the album inhabits a space between contemporary composition, introspective sound poetry and subtle electronics, blurring the line between intentional structure and organic evolution. Across fifteen solo piano pieces intertwined with electronics, Liminal reflects on uncertainty, transformation, resonance and connection.

“The album moves between two sides,” says Beving. “Sometimes, I try to shape and refine sound into its purest form. Other times, the music seems to flow on its own, shifting, fading, and returning to silence as if guided by something natural. It’s less about structure and more about connection, resonance, and change — closer to ecology than architecture.”

As well as his solo piano concerts, Joep can also perform with acclaimed ensemble Echo Collective, or alongside Echo Collective and Maarten Vos (modular synth and cello). There is also the option for performances featuring the renowned choir Cappella Amsterdam.

These performances can be complemented by a simple yet utterly spellbinding light show, developed by Nick Verstand & Boris Acket.

Hermetism, the Dutch composer/pianist’s fourth album for Deutsche Grammophon, was released globally in April 2022, followed by Vision of Contentment — recorded with Maarten Vos — released on Leiter Verlag in July 2024.
