Fatima Al Qadiri

Composer and conceptual artist Fatima Al Qadiri is multi-disciplinary talent whose one-of-a-kind work bridges electronic productions, movie soundtracks and visual arts. Western dance music and the rich traditions of Muslim culture are two key constants in Al Qadiri’s frame of reference and her extensive discography absorbs and rethinks both. Fatima has released four albums and multiple EPs with Hyperdub over the past decade and EPs on UNO, Fade To Mind and Tri-Angle in the preceding years.

In 2019, Fatima scored the debut feature film by Mati Diop, Atlantics; the film won the Grand Prix at Cannes Film Festival while Fatima received a César nomination for Best Original Score. Her film scores captivate with intricate electronic soundscapes, often accompanied by hauntingly stunning vocals.

Her mixes as DJ venture through contemporary world dance music creating a lively and unpredictable journey on the dance floor. Fatima's mixes have been featured by Fact Magazine, Dazed and DIS, just to name a few prominent platforms.
