Letherette release their first new music since 2013’s self-titled debut album on Ninja Tune. Returning from an extended studio interlude, the ‘Refresh’ EP wastes no time getting down to business, collating four songs aimed squarely at the dancefloor.
EP opener “Rayon” channels the same raw and instinctively danceable energy of classic Kenny “Dope” Gonzalez, Armand Van Helden and DJ Sneak tracks on NY imprint Henry Street in the early 90s.
The mouthwateringly good debut from Letherette has just dropped. Perfectly balanced between deep home listening tracks and dancefloor killers, the British duo are quickly becoming a key part of the electronic landscape. With key appearances scheduled for their live show with visuals through summer, we are now booking more for autumn along with club dancefloor DJ sets.

In anticipation of their new – self-titled – album out on April 13th, Letherette hit the Boiler Room for a 40 minutes DJ set to show off some album tunes, sexily blended into some of their favorite party belters. Dilla-style club-hop working up to french leaning chunk-house… these guys just need to play on big systems in front of sweaty people.
Great news around the porch of Letherette: their third EP, Featurette is now available to buy on 12″ vinyl and download at the Ninja Tunes webshop. Letherette’s debut album, Letherette is due to be released on the 15th of April.
Their new single D&T featuring remixes from Dorian Concept and Clark will be released 11 March and can also be pre-ordered at the Ninjashop and iTunes – listen to the Dorian Concept remix now at FACT, and watch the video for the original track, co-created with Konx-om-Pax, below.
New European dates for the first term of 2013 have also been announced, you can catch the guys in London, Paris, Berlin, Brussels or Tisno in Croatia. Watch this space!
After two successful events, Leisure System finally returns to London for a mind-blowing megablaster at XOYO. New talents and familiar faces will rock both dancefloors, and wait… did we mention the JETS debut UK live show?
On Friday the 8th of February, Leisure System and XOYO will present JETS. After 12 years of friendship and career parallels, Machinedrum and Jimmy Edgar’s pairing was inevitable. As they now both take up full-time residencies in Berlin their collaboration has reached a forceful head. Taking recognisable elements of electronic dance music and transforming them into something altogether new, the result is more than the sum of its parts reflecting the duo’s eccentric and distinctive personalities.
Alongside the majestic duo, Letherette, Akkord, Dawn Day Night, Visionist, Kommune1, Hubie Davidson, and Discipline of the Leisure System family will make the night an unforgettable one.
Be sure to grab your tickets before they are gone!
For their third EP Featurette, shadowy Wolverhampton duo Letherette sign to Ninja Tune ahead of a debut album in 2013.
Drawing on Bangalter-inflected house but giving it a rumble and wing, Letherette make infectious, beat-driven music which is as fun and un-self-conscious as it is clever and technically cutting edge. From the exuberant cut-up boogie of ‘Warstones‘, through moments of ethereal beauty on the four-to-the-floor stomper ‘Ettewards‘, on into the delicate, poised ‘Surface‘ (featuring vocals from Jed + Lucia) and finally the spaced hip hop of ‘Wecko‘, the childhood friends use the Featurette EP to show their range and diversity as well as their technical nous.
After two releases on the excellent Ho Tep Records, an appearance on Brownswood Electric, a couple of stunning remixes (for Machinedrum and Bibio) and a fantastic DJ mix for BTS Radio, plus support from the likes of Benji B, Gilles Peterson and Brackles, gigs and festival appearances across Europe this summer, and now a trio of fantastic EPs – Letherette are ready to make the musical leap to the big time.
