  • Clash Debuts New DJ Mix From Emika


    A kaleidoscopic mix put together for Clash Magazine:

    Continually pushing ahead, the producer recently pieced together a mix for Clash to demonstrate where her head is at. Frequently collaborating with The Bomb Squad producer Hank Shocklee, Emika has also completed a salute to David Bowie – in the form of a neat deconstruction of ‘Let’s Dance’.

    All pieced together with a rare sense of exactness and detail, this is a fascinating catch up.

    ‘Sing to me’ is taken from Emika’s forthcoming album Dva. It is one of the most club friendly songs of the album that will certainly dive into dance floor territories. Panoramic vocals swing beautifully together with the thunderous bass line, while the fast paced piano samples drive the song all the way through.

    With her stunning 2nd album out on June 10th, and a run of album shows through June/July, we are now turning our attention to plans for autumn. Emika is now booking the all new, version 2 of her full live show. The show adapts to different contexts, from smaller sweaty clubs to big festival stages, Emika is ready for it all.

    DVA, is a return to the music of her roots, a triumph of keenly felt and brilliantly expressed reflections of oppression and freedom, be it political, sexual or artistic.

    DVA is an exploration of self-expression and sound, taking dark dub pop, sound design inspirations and melding them with classical music of her upbringing, taking Emika’s production a giant step forward.
